Salt Lake City Library’s longest-serving librarian is retiring, and we want your help thanking her and wishing her well!
A lot has changed in libraries since 1957 when Lenore Lewis first joined the SLC as a 17-year old right out of high school. Over her 61 years in libraries, she’s seen a lot and has helped several generations of Salt Lake grow, learn, and succeed. Ms. Lewis has been a jack of all trades for the Salt Lake City Public Library where she has faithfully fulfilled almost every role in the library over her career. Just as her co-workers will miss her influence and personality, the library community will also greatly miss Lenore. She is an inspiration for all of us who support and work for libraries.
Please take a moment and sign our digital Thank You card for her (at the right). At a time when libraries are being defunded and abandoned by our leaders, Ms. Lewis’ tenure with her library is a testament to the resiliency of libraries. If librarians are to continue their service to our communities, we must stand behind them and tell our elected officials we will not stand for any attack on library funding.
