Our friends at the Ozark Foothills Literacy Project in northern rural Arkansas need your help. In the last few months the Literacy Project has suffered both a fire and a flood. They have lost most of the infrastructure they need to teach adults basic literacy skills. They need to replace thousands of dollars of books, computers, and furniture.
Can you help us help them raise $5,000 quickly to replace these essentials and rebuild?
Our longtime friend and colleague Nicole Stroud is on the Board of the Literacy Project. She told us that: “One in five adults in our part of Arkansas struggles to read, and the Literacy Project is the only organization offering basic literacy instruction across five counties. The growing Spanish speaking immigrant population has limited options for learning English. In order to continue teaching those who seek to learn, we need this financial help”
They have already raised $1,300 of the $5,000 they need to recover and rebuild from the fire and flood. Can you make a donation of $10 to $15 today to help move them forward? Nicole goes on to say: “We are on a mission to empower adults and improve communities through literacy. Without our supply of textbooks, we can’t enroll new students or graduate current students to the next level.”
