DLA and FODL Endorse State Funding Increase for Public Libraries in FY2026

Today, the Delaware Library Association (DLA) and the Friends of Delaware Libraries (FODL) are sending a letter to the Joint Finance Committee, strongly endorsing the Council on Libraries’ request to increase Library Standards funding for FY 2026. 

The Need for FY 2026 State Funding Increase for Public Libraries

The Delaware Libraries community is asking state legislators to approve a $2.1 million increase in Library Standards funding for Fiscal Year 2026. This critical funding boost would raise the total Library Standards budget to $8.47 million, ensuring that libraries across all three counties can continue to meet the growing needs of their communities.
