Your Delaware Library Card Connects You With More than Books
Delaware Libraries have been expanding in space, partnerships, and ideas. This makes sense in order to accommodate over 4 million visitors that stop by the library or visit online each year. Not just loaning out books; libraries serve as a “community helpdesk” to support all sorts of needs.

Delaware Libraries Inspiration Space is just one example of this. The libraries serve as mini makerspaces for community members to experiment and create using technology. These spaces offer 3D printing, design software like Adobe, and plenty of equipment for use like cameras, green screens, and drawing tablets. Inspiration spaces help patrons pursue lifelong learning.

Delaware Libraries throughout the state offer loanable devices, technology assistance, and kiosks that provide privacy for online job interviews or appointments with health professionals. You can access useful information regarding behavioral health and substance abuse, veteran affairs, employment, education, family courts, immigration, and food assistance.
The libraries promote community engagement with displays. Each of the libraries showcase a variety of interesting collections and artwork in their displays. There have been displays of political propaganda collected over the years, photography captured by local residents, and other civic, cultural, educational, and recreational collections. Those interested in sharing a display are encouraged to contact their local public library to see what options are available.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library through Delaware Libraries is now available to every Delawarean under age 5. Registered children receive a book in the mail each month. Please help spread the word! Delaware Libraries partner with healthcare providers to get a head start on early literacy, starting with Beebe Hospital and the Lewes Public Library, and Bayhealth Hospitals and the Dover and Milford public libraries.
